Starcraft Bus Recall Starcraft has decided that certain 2004 - 2009 Starcraft XLT models at full passenger capacity and full fuel, could fail to conform to the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.” The affected vehicles have incorrect values for the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and Gross Axle Weight Rating specified on the certification label.

Chevrolet has begun making their customers who purchased 2010 model year Chevrolet Express vehicles equipped with a V8 Engine, may have a condition where the throttle position sensor may cause the engine to run rough and caus the malfunction indicateord lamp and/or an Engine Reduced Power message to illuminate.  If this occurs, it could result in reduced engine power.

Ricon Corporation has begun notifiying it's customers in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act that they have a defect in certain models of their Wheelchair lifts.  The models effected were manufactured between August 1, 2006 and September 29, 2009 which are equipped with an optional armored cord on the hand held control pendant.  The affected model numbers end in either a "B" or "3".  The affected lifts are equipped with a hand held pendant control where upon the cord is protected by a flexible, stell conduit and an external power lug at the base of the hydraulic pump.  In the event he lift is installed such that the armoured pendant cable is not managed to be kept clear of the wheelchair lift and the protective, elastomeric cover is either omitted or improperly installed he armored pendant cable may contact the power lug resulting in a high current short circuit or possibility of fire.

The Braun Corporation and NHTSA (National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration) have conferred and Braun has decided to initiate a voluntary recall on some of their commercial and personal wheelchair lifts. The recall involves lift model numbers starting with NCL and NVL and ending with -2, between series AA through DA. The recall covers an inspection of the outer roll stop latch and associated hardware. If an issue is found, a recall repair kit (part # 945-12E002) is available through your local Braun Dealer/Warranty Center.  This recall is being provided to the end users at no cost.

Trans/Air Manufacturing has announced a “mandatory product improvement” campaign on all TA-73 Evaporators manufactured between 8/2/99 – 5/15/07. This campaign involves a resistor in evaporator that controls the fan speeds. During normal operation this resistor can fail potentially causing a thermal event. Trans/Air Mfg. is providing a fuse setup that will be added to the low and medium speed power circuits to protect the resistor.

Trans/Air Manufacturing has announced a “mandatory product improvement” campaign on EC 2.0/2.5/3.0 series electrical components.   A potential issue with aftermarket installation practices has come to light and may cause issues with these electrical components. A visual inspection is required to verify that the installation was performed correctly. If any issues are discovered, Trans Air Mfg. is providing an eight (8) step procedure and a retrofit kit with corrected fasteners.
